Church Fundraiser Benefits Mon Health Cancer Center Wig Bank
The Mapletown United Methodist Church in Greensboro, Pa. donated its proceeds to the Mon Health Medical Center Zelda Stein Weiss Cancer Center Wig Bank.
The church does an annual fundraising event called a Calendar Party in which they do several things to raise money, including a Chinese Auction with over 120 donated items. They then choose projects in the community to support with their donations. This year, they decided the Wig Bank at Mon Health Infusion Center as one of their projects to support because one of their church members, Susan Drew, was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Several members of the group, including Susan and her husband, Keith, brought the check to the Infusion Center for presentation. Keith stated that he and Susan were extremely grateful for the excellent care that Susan has gotten in all areas of the Mon Health Cancer Center.
The fund will go toward the purchase of wigs, hats, and scarves for cancer patients. The entire Mon Health Cancer Center would like to express their appreciation to the Mapletown United Methodist Church for their truly generous donation in honor of Susan Drew.
