Amanda Landis takes pride in being part of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital
After many years of working on the clinical side of healthcare, Amanda Landis, RN, has found her niche and passion at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital as the staff educator.
“I enjoy caring for others, especially in the community I live in but I’ve always wanted to be an educator in some form,” she said. “Stonewall Jackson Memorial provided that opportunity for me, and it’s been a great transition.”
Amanda is from Tallmansville, near Buckhannon, where she still resides. Her career began as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), then continued to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and eventually, a registered nurse (RN). Before coming to Stonewall Jackson Memorial, Amanda managed an OBGYN clinic.
“Everyone here at Stonewall has welcomed me with open arms,” she said. “I drive 45 minutes to work every day, and it’s 100 percent worth the trip.”
Amanda was named the hospital’s May 2019 Employee of the Month. As the staff educator, she is responsible for coordinating curriculum within the hospital as needed for certifications, licenses, or new procedures and policies.
