Barbara Tabacsko’s Attention to Detail Benefits Patients
Barbara Tabacsko’s work for Mon Health Medical Center’s environmental services department shows how caring she is to Mon Health Medical Center patients.
As a housekeeping assistant, Barbara’s main priorities are cleaning patient rooms, floors and public areas. But it’s her attentiveness beyond her duties that made her Mon Health’s October Champion Award winner. The award is given to employees who exemplify Mon Health’s mission, vision and values every day.
Barbara’s coworkers nominated her for the award. Her coworkers say she goes above and beyond for patients after she’s done with her housekeeping duties. Barbara will ask patients before she leaves the room if they need anything.
“I just make sure they’re comfortable or if they need a nurse, I can call for them,” Barbara said.
Barbara has been at Mon Health Medical Center for over 2 years. She said she’s always wanted to work in a hospital setting.
“My coworkers here are like family,” she said. “You can’t beat that. I just enjoy working here, and it’s because everyone is so nice and respectful.”
Barbara grew up in Cleveland, but her family would eventually move to Pennsylvania where she currently lives.
